Why not do something different and spoil someone with a special gift of English wine! English wine is exploding in popularity, winning multiple international awards and this will be a gift that not only surprises but will be a joy to drink!
Each month our Master of Wine tastes a wide range of wines across England and Wales, but only selects the best for our gift subscriptions and gift boxes. The wines are always quality, often from small, artisanal vineyards and rarely known outside their locality, providing an additional scarcity factor that make for a unique wine gift. With our MW doing the hard graft and applying his knowledge, if you are looking for a gift for a wine lover you can be safe in the knowledge that his selection of still and sparkling wines will truly delight and surprise.
When it comes to our wine gifts, there are a couple of options.
You can either buy a gift wine subscription, with the selection of wine chosen by us, either as a one-off case or over a period of months. The wine subscription gift is a wonderful way of introducing new English wines to a relative, friend or colleague, which will take them on a journey of discovery into one of the most exciting and newest of the new world wine regions. You can buy a sparkling case, a still wine case or a mixed case and for every month you are giving they will receive a new selection of wines. A wine gift subscription is a present that keeps on giving and provides a wonderful sense of anticipation!
Additionally, you can select one of our pre-selected wine gift boxes, which make a fabulous and unusual gift, and will surprise and delight in equal measure. The wine gift box sets are often chosen in conjunction with a famous name, including Oz Clarke of the Three Wine Men and Joe Fattorini of The Wine Show or are a selection of some of the very best English wines available, including both still and sparkling. Remember, whichever gift box you do choose you can be reassured that every bottle has been selected by our Master of Wine, Clive Barlow (Clive has been an MW for 20 years and was Director of Education at the renowned Institute of Master of Wine so he’s pretty good!!).
We believe that your wine gift should not only stand out with the quality of the wine but should look and feel good too. That is why we took out time to find high quality paper to write the wine notes, which include a description of the wines, the vineyard where the grapes were grown and food pairing ideas. These are presented in a smart envelope and naturally, you would like to put your own personal message so you can add that too. Each wine delivery gift is delivered in a simple elegant, eco friendly box.
A truly delicious wine from one of the leading UK vineyards. The Gusbourne Blanc de Blancs is made using hand selected (predominantly Burgundian clone) Chardonnay. The wine is aged for a minimum of forty two months on lees and six months on cork before it is deemed ready for release.
It is sparkling wine that typifies the linear purity of a classic Blanc de Blancs. It delivers a direct, elegant and fresh finish.
Our Blanc de Blancs is the truest expression of our terroir. We select the finest lots of Chardonnay, exhibiting natural minerality, ensuring that the wine has both the finesse and elegance that one would expect in this style, but also the requisite qualities for extended ageing.
Regarded as being at the very pinnacle of English Sparkling Wines, The Gusbourne wines are only released when deemed ready by their winemaker and Master Sommelier, Laura Rhys.
You can add a personal message when you click to buy, which will be included alongside detailed notes on the wine and the Gusbourne vineyard.
These three wines highlight the versatility the Bacchus grape and showcase the skill of the winemakers involved.
Hidden Spring Bacchus Fumé recent winner of a gold medal at the WineGB awards, has a beautiful aromatic character delivering lime, green apple and honeysuckle whilst the palate offers more jasmine and some tropical fruit notes. In addition, the palate is dry, fresh and also rounded and textured. There is a fine harmony of oak spice and creaminess through lees work. The oak is well integrated and allows the fruit to come through.
This wine shows well with salads but will work with a variety of salmon or sea trout dishes. It can definitely be drunk now but this has a potential to age over the next 3 to 5 years, developing complexity and greater integration.
Green Belt Bacchus has a typical Bacchus freshness and vibrant acidity but what is distinctive is the layered aromatics and flavours which make this a wine to sip and explore as well as seek another glass. The complex range of flavours and citrus nature make this a wine suitable for lighter dishes with an array of spices and flavours. So it matches Thai or spicy foods well such as fish curries or lemongrass based dishes.
Litmus Orange Bacchus is pale gold in colour the wine displays hazelnut, fennel, dried orange and marzipan characters on the nose. The palate has a touch of white pepper spice, is full flavoured, discernibly made from Bacchus but the skin maceration gives depth, complexity and texture. There is a degree of astringency on the palate and a long finish. The weight, acidity and texture means it will partner a range of dishes such as slow cooked belly pork, goose and cooked cheese-dishes; anything with a bit of fattiness or rich in dairy. Some cheese merchants believe it is one of the best wines to partner a cheese platter. Joe Fattorini, MW of The Wine Show said: “I like this a lot - a peppery warmth on the back of the palate - delicious”

English Sparkling wine is really coming of age and this box celebrates how far and wide the wines come from. We have the renowned Langhams Estate in Dorset, the award-winning Greyfriars vineyard from Surrey and the Woodchurch vineyard in Kent, an estate whose reputation keeps getting stronger and stronger. These three sparkling wines are a real joy to drink, with or without food, and most certainly perfect for toasting friends and family!
Greyfriars Classic Cuvée 2014: The wine has a lovely light, fresh feel with touches of yellow apple, pastry, lemon and cobnuts. It is a splendid refreshing aperitif and ideal for sipping with friends and with enough weight to partner oysters or whitebait, or tempura seafood
Langhams Estate Culver Classic Cuvée NV: a wine brimming with red apple fruits, a good weight of umami rich, nutty-toastiness and a saline note too. The mousse is gentle and creamy, the finish long and lingering. This is a classy wine which will be a sipping fizz to alert the senses to its complexity but also have the weight to partner more robust fish dishes, soft cheeses or guinea fowl.
Woodchurch Sparkling Rosé: Vibrant coral pink in colour with a nose of wild summer fruits, this is an elegant sparkling wine with notes of redcurrants, cherries and strawberries. It has an excellent length and creaminess on the finish.

Our Award Winning Box has selected 3 fabulous wines which not only have impressed Clive, our Master of Wine, but also judges at two key award ceremonies , the WineGB Awards and the Independent English Wines Awards (IEAW). They include a superb Rosé from FOLC, a tremendous Bacchus, known as the English grape from Whitehall Vineyard and , of course, we couldn’t have a box without a sparkling wine, the Ashling Park Classic Cuvée NV.
Whitehall Bacchus 2019: This is one of the more floral styles delivery elderflower and honeysuckle on the nose but with a grapefruit and green apple palate. It is a real palate freshner with bright acidity balanced by lush fruit density. We are not the tasters to enjoy the wine. The wine received a Gold award from the IEWA ( Independent English Wine Awards). The note from the IEWA praises the wine for the wine being a “A clean, fresh Bacchus with notes of pear drops and lemon. A ripe taste, zingy and delicious. Superbly crafted, textured and balanced – excellent!”.
FOLC Rosé: Another Gold Medal from the IEAW Awards and this wine is really delicious. It has a light red fruit and gentle spice with a dry, balanced palate. It is probably as close to a Provence style as I have tasted and delivers a textured silky feel. The extra weight means it will partner some fish dishes such as salmon or sea trout as well as the lightly spice spiced dishes of the Eastern Mediterranean.
Ashling Park Classic Cuvée NV: Last but not least, the Ashling Park Classic Cuvée has won the Best Sparkling Wine at the WineGB awards for the past 2 years so fully deserves to be in our Award Winning Box. The aromatics display plenty of autolytic characters, biscuit, brioche, plus citrus notes and apple and honey. There is a depth to the aromatics not often found which promises a fulsome palate and long finish. On the palate there is the expected depth but great harmony and a fine mousse. The wine has one of the longest I have experienced in English sparkling wine and it is one of the balanced wines you will find.
